For the blog, I found the set up process fairly easy. I followed the instructions provided and things worked the way they were supposed to. I set up my blog account quickly as my email came after five minutes. When I was creating my website, it took a bit longer. I also did it late at night so I got tired and did not view my website until the next morning. When I did view the website, it was kinda hard for me to view my actual blog because I did not know how to get to it. However, when I did find it everything looked like it was supposed to according to the template. Now I just need to figure out how to customize it so it looks better.
For MatterMost I had never heard of the program before but the setup was quite painless. I set it up on my laptop and not on my phone as I felt it was more useful to me on my laptop.
Overall, I felt like the setup went well for me. I am looking forward to learning more about how to use these two programs.

Hello Kasey,
I’m glad setup went smoothly for you. I like your design choices so far; the pink background colour for this page is soothing, and you have a different header picture while retaining the format. The header for this post seems particularly *apropos,* what with the crafting supplies.
I wonder if you shouldn’t change the embedded image (the cutesy noodle-armed computer), however. You have attributed it, but it is covered with the iStock Photo watermark, which I believe means you’re not allowed to repost it without their express permission–the watermark is effectively their way of signalling, “this photo is stolen.” iStock Photo is very much a paid service. Our professor went over a number of free-to-use image sources on Friday’s class, and the links are stockpiled at the Web page for Week 2: https://edtechuvic.ca/edci336/2022/01/18/week-2-most-likely-to-succeed-fippa-inquiry-topics/ (item number 9).
See you in class,
– Emmanuel

Thank you for your comments Emmanuel. I liked that you got the aesthetic I was aiming for with my blog.
I am still learning about photo copyright so thank you for your suggestion. I decided to update the picture with one that has a similar feel but is appropriately cited.

Hi Kasey,
I really like your blog’s design. Also, I agree that mattermost was a bit tricky to set up. I like the picture and I noticed you are using the resources we covered last class. That’s great! I’m excited to see how your blog evolves over the semester.
Greetings,
Reyna

Hi Reyna,
Thank you for your comments. I had to play around with the site for quite a while before I figured out a design I liked so I’m glad you like it.

Hi Kasey,
I’m glad you didn’t have too much trouble setting up your accounts. I had never heard of mattermost before either and it seems a bit less intuitive and not as easy an interface compared to our group discord but hopefully we will all get used to it. I’m excited to read more blog posts from you as the semester goes on!

Hi Lucy,
Thank you for your comments. I am sure as we use mattermost more, it will become more natural to use. Most things seem to have an adjustment period.
